How xTerminal works

The stack: a dashboard for state, a connected custom site, Requests, a Knowledge Base, and a worker that still comes back to a person.

xTerminal is the control panel for a custom-built website. The dashboard holds who can change what, which Request is open, and what is already true. The public site stays a real project a developer connects. A worker can build. A person reviews it before it is live.

The dashboard

State lives here: membership, content you turned on, Inbox, Pipeline when that tool is on, and Requests when the site is entitled. People and agents should be looking at the same board.

The connected site

Someone builds or brings a site and connects it. Code, GitHub, and the host stay in the developer lane. Owners do not get a repository login from xTerminal.

Requests

When Edit cannot do the job, owner or admin files a Request. Status moves Submitted, Working, Review, Live. Looks good accepts a preview. Ship to live is a later ask.

Knowledge Base

Per-site brand and company facts. Content and Requests consume it. Coming soon in the dashboard. Do not treat it as a live editor yet.

The worker door

Admin or developer mints a site-scoped key. A worker reads and updates Requests for that site only. Speak of it as a worker or an agent. Do not name a bot brand in the product.

Who does which job

  • Owner: run the site, file Requests, review previews, billing, Team, transfer.
  • Admin: the same ops except transfer, plus worker keys and Ship to live.
  • Developer: connect the site, mint keys, attach delivery, Ship to live.
  • Worker: pick up a Request, build, attach proof, mark shipped after Ship to live.

How to use this handbook

  1. Start here when you need the whole stack in one place.
  2. Open Connect a site when a developer is wiring the public project.
  3. Open The Request loop and Servicing requests when work is on the board.
  4. Open Knowledge Base and Agents and the Knowledge Base for shared facts.
  5. Open Gateway, APIs, and MCP when a worker needs to call the door.

What is live on the stack

The dashboard, roles, Requests, and the worker HTTP door are live where the site is entitled. Knowledge Base editing and MCP packaging are Coming soon. Portfolio and Client Ops marketplace listings are live; see Portfolio vs Client Ops. There is no marketplace inside the dashboard. Mark dashboard features that are not shipped as intent, not a click you can make today.
